DIA to organise conference on Drug Discovery & Clinical Development in Mumbai from 15-18 Oct
Drug Information Association is organizing the 6th Annual Conference on Drug Discovery and Clinical Development: Converging Healthcare and Market Access Strategies To Benefit Patients from October15 and 18, 2011 at Lalit Intercontinental, Mumbai.
The 4-day event will highlights 5 tutorials, 12 tracks, 48 sessions with around 120 speakers from India and abroad including global regulatory authorities and the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI). Over 400 delegates are expected to participate in the event.
The session will cover topics from drug discovery through post-marketing safety surveillance. It will provide an invaluable forum for sharing information and networking for professionals involved in the discovery, development, and life cycle management of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and related products, including discussion of current issues related to new areas such as regulatory changes, biosimilars, medical devices, and best practices in the design, conduct, and reporting of clinical trials, according tot e organizers.
The programme co-chairs are Dr Munish Mehra, president, Global Alliance of Indian Biomedical Professionals, Washington, DC, USA and Dr Mubarak Naqvi, CSU director, Sanofi India. Some of the keynote speakers will include Ranjit Shahani, country president, Novartis Ltd India, Dr David Lepay, senior advisor, US FDA, USA, Dr Arun Bhatt, president, Clininvent Research Mumbai.
A plenary session on the inaugural session will have a Panel Discussion to discuss on ‘Barriers and Facilitators to Innovation in Bio-pharmaceuticals’.
Senior pharma company executives will share their vision for what they see as the key opportunities and impediments for India becoming a major pharma hub and what must be done to overcome the impediments.
